BOCS™ (Company Overview)
The Beginning
We thought that Living Digitally meant freedom from more boxes that come with a monthly bill.
We thought that our music, movies, shows, and pictures were meant to be enjoyed on any television, in any room without any new wires whether I had a new HD TV or my old boob tube set.
We thought that going digital meant freedom from service providers who wanted to charge us more money just to continue watching our recorded shows in another room. Boy were we wrong!
So we began asking our friends and family questions like these . . .
- Have you ever wanted to watch your recorded shows in another room?
- Have you ever wanted to keep an eye on the baby from any TV in the home with the press of a button?
- Would you like to watch your IPOD movies on any TV in any room by simply pressing a button?
- Would you like to watch your movies on any TV in any room without buying another cable or satellite box?
…What a surprise, we discovered there were a lot of people like us who wanted the same freedom to watch our movies, our IPODs, our “stuff” on any TV from any room just like we did.
So, one day, while training for a triathalon, one of the guys said, someone had to have solved this problem. Much to our surprise, no one had. So, we said, lets go build it.
We hoped you’d like what we did, so we built it based on what we wanted and what you told us. You asked us to make it simple to use and really easy to understand. You reminded us you didn’t like learning to use a new remote or having to train the babysitter.
We use it ourselves and our families love it. We call it BOCS™ [Broadcast Over Cable System] and created a company to make it available to everyone who felt like us.
